Some Health Cards, as well as Cybernetic installation, require Surgery.

Surgery is intended to be an intense roleplay scene with the outcome determined by a card draw. As you perform your roleplay, you add the Medicine and Equipment used to a deck, then shuffle and draw a card at the end.

The card will match one of these colours:

Green Success
Yellow Complication. The Health card is resolved, but the patient has a side-effect.
Red Failure. The Health card is not resolved, and the patient has a side-effect.
Blue Custom result; explained on the Medicine card.

Performing Surgery

The Health Card will outline several symptoms and a Rating number. This Rating is the maximum number of cards that you can add to your deck during the procedure.

You create your deck by using Medicines. Each Medicine card will be green, yellow, or blue, and is added directly to the deck when used. You can only use Medicine cards that match at least one symptom, and cannot add any more for a particular symptom after the number after it has been reached.

Some Equipment will add its own card to the deck to help with the surgery or resolve a specific symptom.

As you complete the surgery roleplay, if your Medicine has not met each symptom number, add a red card for each missed amount (this can bring the total number of cards in the deck to above the Rating number).

Then, draw a card to find out your result!

Red Cards

For every symptom rank you don’t meet, add a random Red card to your deck. For example, if the Health card states Infection 3 and you only use one Infection 1 medicine, you would add 2 Red cards to the deck.
