Build Projects
Larger team-based build projects will list a number of tasks to complete, ranging from gathering materials and items to physically constructing props from pieces found during the game. These may be mission objectives or long-term improvements for the ship to unlock new facilities.
All Build Projects will be displayed in the Taskminders bay. Anyone may contribute until the target is met. If you have an idea for a Build Project, talk to A-COM.

Emergency Cloner (1/6 Complete)
This is a Major Project that cannot be completed in just one event. It was commissioned at Event 1 by Engineering Principal East.
In theory, the current Resuscitator and Emergency Teleporter should be enough to keep the crew alive. In practice, it’s only a matter of time until things go downhill and the Ardent starts losing members.
This device will be owned by Diplo once completed due to Alliance regulations on cloning authorisation, though the Taskminders will still be asked to help maintain it from time to time.
Stage 1: Full-Body Scanner (Complete)
This scanner creates a new file for each individual scanned, like a “save point”, so they can be revived as they are at that point in time. Full-body scanning takes time; anyone leaving the Ardent will be required to do a scan first, so at most, a player character will lose memories of the current event so far.
Resources required were successfully submitted at Event 1.

Optional: Automatic Cerebral Scanner
This part of the device automatically scans members of crew overnight while they sleep, updating their scan file so a revived individual only loses memories of that day, instead of when they last did a full-body scan. This hasn’t been attempted across a full ship yet, let alone an away crew, so we’ll need to seek out a specialist to advise further.
Stage 2: Data Storage
A high speed, highly encrypted data storage independent from the main ship’s file storage to store all the scans. Data Protective Measures mean this is not linked to the ship’s mainframe and is entirely offline to protect from remote hacking. The easiest way to get this is by trading for pre-constructed parts. We wouldn’t be able to source this on Flustrian, but salvage on the planet is valuable and a good bargaining chip for any ships we pass in our journey.
Optional: Hacking Defence
A defence system to detect physical hackers and sound the alarm.
Stage 3: Resource Storage
Due to being independent from the rest of the ship, the Cloner isn’t linked with the usual FABREP automatic resource dispenser and must have its own storage. This is the most resource intensive part. We will need to purchase these chemicals in bulk - and if we’re lucky, can get a synthesizing recipe from the company so we can top up with our own chemicals.
Stage 4: Cloning Matrix
The main part of the machine - the bit that constructs the clones! Instructions will be released once the project is fully funded.
